Paul envisions the church as part of God’s healing of the world and continually seeks to understand how God is calling us into that future.
In many ways, Paul had a very normal up-bringing, having grown up on Normal Avenue in Normal, Illinois. His father was on the faculty at Illinois State University and his mother was a music teacher. After graduating from Manchester University in North Manchester, Indiana, Paul went to seminary beginning at McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago and then graduating with a Master of Divinity from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. Paul has served Presbyterian churches in Plano, Texas; State College, Pennsylvania; Lincoln, Illinois; Stillwater, Minnesota; and New Canaan, Connecticut. He is thrilled to be back in his home state where he won’t be the lone Bears fan on Sunday afternoons. He is a sports junkie, rooting for the fighting Illini, Illinois Wesleyan, Occidental College, and all teams Chicago – except for one small hiccup - his undivided baseball loyalty to the St. Louis Cardinals. He is married to Jeannick Minet, who was born outside of Paris, but who grew up in the south of France and in Algeria. Between them, they have four sons: Andrew, an attorney in Chicago with Katten, Muchin, & Rosenman; Ben, an investigator with the Civilian Complaints Review Board, the City of New York, and Fordham Law School student by night; Derrick, a software engineer & cyber security specialist with Liberty Mutual in Dover, New Hampshire; and Grant, an undergraduate student at the University of Vermont; and one granddaughter, Mara, who lives in Chicago (River North).
Geoff Duffy Director of Music Associate Director of Worship
Geoff is a native of the Pacific Northwest (no, it doesn’t always rain there!) and was raised in the Evangelical Free Church. In his 20’s he joined the Roman Catholic Church, and over the past twenty years, has served as the Pastoral Assistant for Liturgy and Music in several large Catholic parishes, including multi-ethnic congregations both in Seattle and on the south side of Chicago. He also spent a couple years with the Lutherans and is now enjoying his time with the Presbyterians in Winnetka! Geoff received his B.A. in Pastoral Studies from Southwestern College (KS), and a certificate in Scripture and Leadership Training from Seattle University School of Theology and Ministry. And just in case you are wondering about his musical training, he took private piano lessons for eleven years and started playing the organ in church when he was twelve.
Nancy Holly Director of Children's Ministry Youth Coordinator
I am so pleased to be serving WPC as the Director of Children’s Ministry. As many of you know I am very familiar with our children’s program from my years as a volunteer on the Children’s Ministry Team, and as an Elder for Children’s Ministry for two terms (6 years). As a result it’s been a smooth transition. As I assume this position one of my goals and vision for the program is building connections. I want our children to make connections with each other, our congregation, our worship, and our mission work.
Kathy went to Vassar College and Northwestern University, where she graduated with a degree in media production. She was a media producer for United Methodist Communications and other educational companies for 15 years before going to McCormick Theological Seminary where she graduated with a Masters of Divinity in 1996. She worked as a chaplain at two North Shore Hospitals. She was ordained in 2000. She pursued her call to Media Ministry by working for “30 Good Minutes” as a field producer for 10 years. She produced three minute video segments called “Spiritual Journeys.” She then worked for the Council for a Parliament of the World’s Religions as the organizer for a project called “Sharing Sacred Spaces.” She became a parish associate at WPC in Feb. 2011. She is the staff liaison for Spiritual Life, Adult Education, Interfaith Ministries and Stephen Ministry. She enjoys travel and the performing arts. Rev. McNair is married to Bill McNair.
