Encouraging young people to know and follow Christ.

CHILDREN AND YOUTH

Sunday School Every Sunday @ 10am
FIND OUT MORE

Promises are made to every child at baptism: to support their parents in raising them in the faith so they may come to know, love, and serve Jesus Christ.

Sunday School Every Sunday @ 10am

At WPC, we help provide families with the tools for a spiritual and biblical foundation as they guide their children in a life-long journey of faith.
  • Children join their families in worship until they are dismissed following the scripture reading.
  • Sunday School is dismissed at 11am.
  • Children remain in worship on the First Sunday of each month, serving as scripture readers, prayer leaders, greeters, and ushers. All children are welcome to receive Holy Communion together with their families.

Nursery Care

Sundays, starting at 9:45am

Children are always welcome in worship with their families. We provide a comfortable space for families with very young children to relax and engage in worship. However, if you are interested in childcare for children ages infant through pre-k we have a wonderful nursery that provides a loving and fun environment where children can experience God’s love.

We provide age appropriate activities where children experience a balance of Bible stories, hands-on activities and free play in a safe and nurturing environment.

Our nursery classroom is staffed with two caregivers every Sunday. Debbie Jacquart is the head of our nursery and has been a faithful employee for over 17 years. She has enjoyed watching children grow up at WPC!

You may bring your children to our Whales Tales classroom, room 107, as early as 9:45am on Sundays.

First Sundays @ WPC

Every First Sunday @ 10am
Every Sunday we try to worship in ways that hopefully engage families with children and teens. About ten years ago, we began making an even greater attempt to do that on the First Sunday of each month.

On the First Sunday of each month, children remain in worship with their families to celebrate Holy Communion. All children are welcome to receive the sacrament at the discretion of their parents.

In addition to receiving communion, our young people also serve as scripture readers, prayer leaders, ushers, and greeters. They also bring up the bread and juice for communion and, on occasion, they even sing during worship!

Sunday worship is the primary faith formation experience for our community. It is also the primary way that our young people learn how to be worship leaders in our congregation.

YOUTH PROGRAMS

FIND OUT MORE

Gathering in community offers young people a loving, caring, and safe place to think about God, wrestle with faith, and see how their story intersects with God's story.

The Church of Today!

We believe youth are not only the future of the church, they are the church now!

Youth today have a tremendous amount of things to participate in, from extracurricular activities, to sports and music, to service opportunities and other types of clubs. All of these are wonderful! We feel that a church community offers something unique: a safe place where young people can develop their faith.

Service Opportunities

We seek out hand-on mission projects for young people to actually do and have success in accomplishment. Young people learn by doing and knowing why Christians serve and help people.
