Being the Church in the world.

SUMMER MISSION TRIP

2024 MISSION TRIP: MINNEAPOLIS

This summer, young people and adults from WPC spent several days in Minneapolis. Westminster Presbyterian Church (Nancy Holly's home church!) in downtown Minneapolis was their host while they were the hands and feet of Christ in the Twin Cities.

Youth Witness Talks

Several of the youth that went on this Summer's mission trip shared their experiences with the congregation on Welcome Home Sunday. Click here to read their talks.

Caring for Creation

Working with staff from the Minneapolis Parks Department, we cleared invasive species of plants from a nature area.

Loving God's Children

We spent an afternoon at Open Arms preparing meals for the critically ill. This organization is dedicated to providing nourishing, medically-tailored meals to individuals with critical illnesses, their families and care-givers.

Learning About the Dakota People

We spent the morning with Rev. Jim Bear Jacobs, the Co-Director of Racial Justice for the Minnesota Council of Churches. Jim shared stories of the trauma experienced by the Dakota people that are native to Minnesota.

Packing Food for the Hungry

We spent an afternoon at Second Harvest Heartland packing food for local food pantries and other agency partners.

Westminster Presbyterian Church

We were hosted by Westminster Presbyterian Church ... located in the middle of downtown Minneapolis. While we were in Minneapolis, we visited the George Floyd Memorial, walked around the sculpture park, and even took in a baseball game!
