Ash Wednesday

The holy season of Lent begins on Wednesday, February 18. ​Ashes will be distributed in the roundabout in front of the church office from 8-9am and 12-1pm. Drive through anytime to receive ashes and begin your Lenten journey.

Meet Rev. Dr. Tassie Green

Rev. Dr. Tassie Green is WPC's new interim Senior Pastor. She will begin her ministry with us on February 10. Tassie  has served congregations from 70-4000 members. For the past two years, she has served as the interim Senior Pastor at First Presbyterian Church in Evanston.

She has served as the Bridge Pastor at Hope Presbyterian, Wheaton, IL; Knox Presbyterian Naperville; Heritage, Carol Stream; and First Presbyterian, Deerfield. She has served other interim roles and worked for the Presbytery of Chicago as a trainer and coach. She has also served large congregations in Hinsdale, Indianapolis, and Philly as installed associate pastor for families.

Tassie's vision statement is, “Helping make Jesus real in people’s lives, beginning with our own family.” Tassie and her husband Ken are a clergy couple who live in Palatine, IL. Ken serves with the PC(USA) Board Of Pensions as regional church consultant. Carlina and Michael are their two, grown? children in their 20s.
I love WPC because it totally embodies Christ's teachings to show love, respect, tolerance, kindness, and compassion to all.

OUTREACH

MAKING A DIFFERENCE

We work with our mission partners in caring for those most vulnerable. You may drop off donations for many of these organizations in the boxes outside the CLC doors. 

CHILDREN

ENCOURAGING KIDS TO KNOW AND FOLLOW JESUS

We make promises at every child’s baptism: to support parents in raising their child in the Christian life  so they may come to know, love and serve Jesus. At WPC, we help provide families with the tools for a spiritual and biblical foundation as they guide their children in a life-long journey of faith.

Sunday School

Sundays @ 10am
We have Sunday School classes for K-6th grade each Sunday. Families stay together in worship until after the scripture reading. At that time, children are dismissed to their age-appropriate classes.

Service Projects

Children learn by doing and knowing why Christians serve and help people near and far. We seek out hands-on mission projects for the children to be involved with throughout the year. ​

YOUTH

THE CHURCH OF NOW!

We believe gathering together in spiritual community offers today’s young people something unique: a loving, caring and safe place to think about God, wrestle with their faith, and see how their story intersects with God’s story and hope for this world.

Youth Group

Open to all youth grades 7-12.

Making a Difference

We provide a variety of ways for youth to live out their faith in the world today. From service projects around Chicago to week-long mission trips around the country, we have a history of service being an integral component of the faith journeys of our young people.

ADULTS

BEING TRANSFORMED BY RENEWING OUR MINDS

We welcome the chance to gather together for times of education and formation in all its forms: Bible studies, lectures, presentations, discussions, book clubs, and small groups. We have something for everyone at WPC.
