The sacred Isle of Iona, Scotland, is one of my favorite places on this God’s good earth. It is what the Celts called a “thin place,” where the life of heaven is inseparably woven into the life of the earth, only a thin veil separating the two. And Iona is just one of our stops on this grand tour.
Jeannick and I spent ten days in Scotland a couple of years ago and look forward to returning with a group from WPC. The countryside is gorgeous. Edinburgh is a magnificent city. We’ll walk in the footsteps of John Knox, the forefather of Presbyterians in Scotland, and of those who immigrated to the colonies, establishing the first Presbyterian Churches along the east coast as early as the 1630s. This will truly be a spiritual journey.
