Youth Missions - All Welcome!
Youth Mission Trip 2018
Florida Mission Trip
Mission trips are special experiences in anyone’s life, what a joy and privilege to share this one with such a great group! Our group will headed to central Florida to listen to, as well as connect, stand, and build with local farm workers. We are staying at Cedarkirk Camps in Lithia, Florida and working with Beth-El Farmworkers Ministries, both partnerships of the Presbyterian Church USA.
What we did Summer 2016
Thank you to the generous WPC congregation! We raised over $18,000 for our Youth Mission Trip to Havana, Cuba! We would especially like to thank Chimene Pellar who chaired the event, Karen Tomakoff who created all the art work and decorated the CLC, Nancy Holly who along with Karen co-chaired the event. We would also like to thank: Food donated by Sandra & Al Diaz, Tracy and Michael Colitte, Nancy and David Holly, and other generous members of the congregation, and Dina Price and Chris Kenneally who helped in countless ways to pull this big event together.

We’re excited by the prospect of this year’s youth mission trip to Cuba.
It looks to be yet another meaningful opportunity to be with our Christian family and friends at the First Presbyterian Church of Havana, exploring and exchanging, deepening our faith through fellowship. It will be a rich experience.
To help with your planning, we wanted to outline the broad schedule and note some important points.
Our youth are engaged in the service projects that this church is a part of, and so you will see them walking on the CROP Walk, serving food at A Just Harvest, and engaging in projects in and around Chicagoland. We try to make these types of service projects a regular part of our youth programming.
One of the most formative experiences that youth and adults can have is to participate in a mission trip. There is something about the experience, the relationships that develop and the opportunity to serve, grow and learn, that is unique to these types of experiences. So we believe strongly in the spiritually formative nature of these types of trips.
We have a strong history of involvement in mission trips, and youth from WPC have served on Habitat for Humanity trips, worked in the Colorado and Appalachia, gone on urban immersion trips to Atlanta and have served internationally in the Ukraine and Cuba. We started a mission trip blog during our 2014 trip to Cuba, and if you want to, you can check it out here: WPC Missions Blog here.

2015 Mission Trips
Ukraine Mission Trip
We report joyfully and gratefully that WPC's mission workers have safely returned from Cionkopappi, Ukraine to their families!
We celebrate the work they accomplished, as the hands and feet of Christ, setting up and supporting a Roma children's camp, and the continuation of WPC's partnership with the PCUSA, local congregations, and the Dutch Foundation HOE to provide love and support to the marginalized Roma people.
You can see and learn about Nancy, Lauren, and Haley's experiences via their trip blog, by clicking here.
