Join Us EVERY Sunday for Worship @ 9:45
Worship at WPC celebrates the covenant of grace that God has offered to the world through the Living Word, Jesus Christ. Each week, this Word is experienced in our community as we hear it proclaimed through scripture, preaching, and music; and see it enacted and sealed through the sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion.
Worship is at the heart of our life together as a community. On Sundays we gather to praise God, experience the living Word, celebrate the sacraments, and be sent out into the world as living witnesses of God’s love. At Winnetka Presbyterian we worship in a variety of styles, all rooted in the historic tradition of our church.
We also celebrate the Good News of Jesus Christ through the rhythms and season of the church year, culminating in the Holy Week services which enact the central themes of faith: the passion, death and resurrection of the Christ, the Living Word of God.
WPC Statement of Worship
Worship serves as a profound form of spiritual expression that enhances our experience of the living, loving Word of God revealed in Jesus Christ. Worship communicates deep truths, awakens us to God’s presence, draws us together, and moves us to respond. Therefore worship is offered with care, faith, and passion.
At Winnetka Presbyterian Church, worship further develops our understanding of the scripture lessons, sacraments, and liturgical seasons. Our most authentic offering in worship is that which pours forth from the gifts and passions within our community. Therefore we believe in a culture that is inclusive of people of all ages and abilities. Our church is blessed with gifted singers, instrumentalists, composers, and dancers, presenting us with opportunities for unique, creative, and evocative worship.
Winnetka Presbyterian Church is a community of faith that welcomes all people and extends our arms to embrace the whole world. Worship that is welcoming and outreaching reflects the diversity of people in God’s wide embrace. Therefore we believe in presenting a diverse and balanced blend of music from around the world. The sounds of our worship life should ensure that God’s Word is heard as rooted in tradition, relevant to the sounds and styles of our lives today, and always reaching for a new place together.
