Presbyterian - Muslim Dialogue
Muslim Presbyterian Dialogue
Friday, June 21 @ 7-8:30pm.
WPC will host a Muslim Presbyterian Dialogue sponsored by the Council for Islamic Organizations (CIOGC). Join us for dinner as we listen to Muslim and Christian perspectives on Ibrahim/Abraham from an Imam (Tariq I. El-Ain) and pastor (TBD). If anyone would be interested in helping facilitate this evening, please contact Nancy Holly: email@example.com. Sign ups for the event will be available next week.
Tariq I. El-Amin, is dedicated to addressing the concerns of underserved communities within the Chicagoland area, giving special attention to youth development. Tariq is the Resident Imam of Masjid Al-Taqwa, the Convener of the Chicagoland Shura Council, a long time Director of the Society of United Neighbors (S.U.N.), and the Founder and Executive Director of Bridging The Gap, Inc, a non for profit organization with an established educational and mentoring program, and frequent youth led service projects.
Questions for discussion for small groups:
· What’s your earliest memory of hearing about Ibrahim/Abraham? What were you taught? How did you feel about Ibrahim/Abraham?
· What’s something new that you learned about in the presentations today? Did anything surprise you?
· What’s a question in you have for a person of the other faith (not yours), based on what you heard in the presentations?
