This lively and spiritually nourishing program is organized into Rotational Workshops. Every month the children study a different Bible story or concept by participating in different workshops each week. These workshops are organized around cooking, games, art, computer lab, drama, science or movies. On holiday weekends and throughout the summer, our children participate in our combined Sunday School, with activities for age groups that center on a single story or theme. Parents and other adults teach. Children through 3rd grade must be picked up by a parent. Grades 4-6 are escorted to the atrium to meet their parents at 11:10. Workshops are taught for one month, 2 guides rotate supervising one class for the year. Please select Children's for information pertaining to children between the ages of birth and sixth grade. Rev. Martha Ross-Mockaitis is the Director of Children's Ministries. Junior High is specific to students in seventh and eighth grades; Senior High is for students in high school. Youth pertains to both Junior and Senior High students. Nicole Farley is the Director of Youth Ministries.

We are a Presbyterian Church U.S.A. church and include our denomination's beliefs and practices in our programs for children. We welcome anyone who is interested in learning what and why we have two Sacraments, Baptism and the Lord's Supper or Communion, memorizing the Lord's Prayer, knowing the Ten Commandments, learning Hebrew and New Testament stories and how they touch and shape our lives today, and learning why and how we do mission outreach to others in Chicago, across America and around the world. |

Children with special needs are a welcome part of our faith community. Sometime they will speak out or make noise during worship. This is to be expected and accepted. We have volunteer aides to assist children in Sunday School so that their parents may attend worship. Please let Rev. Martha Ross-Mockaitis know of any special accommodations we can make to enable your child to fully participate in our children's ministry program. |

Worship is God-centered praise and adoration. The church worship service is one basic way by which people learn what it means to be Christian. Children learn worship skills by worshipping with the congregation Sunday after Sunday. |

Children's religious education plays a central role in Winnetka Presbyterian church programming. Our goals come from the promises we make at every child baptism: to support parents in raising their child in the life of Christian faith so that he or she may come to know, love and serve Jesus. We provide families with the tools for a spiritual and Biblical foundation as they guide their children for a life long faith journey. |
