SHARING GOD'S GIFTS
The Giving Culture at WPC
God has been generous to us. And at WPC we respond in faithfulness to extend the culture of giving, as Jesus taught us. We have increased our giving in many ways. New ministries have been started, like Family Promise (a program that shelters homeless families in our building) and Nurture (a program that teaches families how to prepare delicious, nutritious meals on a budget). Ongoing ministries have grown, like our support for Good News Partnership, Interfaith House, the Roma People of the Ukraine, our sister church in Cuba, the Kairos prison ministry, and the Gatina Project in Kenya.
After feeding the five thousand, Jesus told his disciples, “Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted (John 6:12). God provides excess not so it can be stored up but so it can be distributed to the needy.
The dominant secular culture tells us to accumulate possessions and money. The giving culture here at WPC reminds us that all these gifts come from God. We are called to be good stewards of God’s bounty by sharing with others.

We encourage you to pray and reflect on the ways you can share God’s great gifts throughout year.
1. SHARE your time and talents in our community life.
2. INVITE others to join our Christian journey.
3. GIVE financial resources to help us all grow together in faith and God’s love.
