Sheryl Amidei Martha Bermingham Bob Crowe Tom Eilers Joan Hobson Andy McCausland Marj Steiner Madeline Weston Biographical Information:
Sheryl Amidei and her husband are trying their best to raise two responsible sixth graders. Sheryl is a working mom and attorney. My family has been attending Winnetka Presbyterian Church (WPC) for nine years. We found this church a wonderful place to grow with its rich emphasis on independent thinking, faith journey, music, and multi layered community. Martha Bermingham: I have been a member of WPC for 25 years, and during that time, I have been both an Elder and a Deacon. This is the first time I have served on a PNC or APNC. In my life outside the church, I work as an executive recruiter and commute to Chicago every day. In my personal life, I am married to a banker, George, and we have two grown daughters, who are the apples of our eyes. In my spare time, I like to quilt and garden. Bob Crowe has been an active member of the church for over 30 years. He is retired as a lawyer and founder of a firm in dispute resolution. He has been engaged for many years in housing for the homeless and families needing affordable housing, a ministry actively supported by our church. His wife, Liz, continues her ties to the Episcopal Church but is active and faithfully attends our church. They have four adult children and four young grandchildren. Tom Eilers is a lifelong Presbyterian. He and Jeanette have four children and just became grandparents; a six-month-old girl and a six-week-old boy! Jeanette and Tom and their business partners acquire and renovate shopping centers. Tom and Jeanette are very active in WPC’s mission work, especially with the Roma (gypsy) camps in Ukraine. Joan Hobson has been a member of the church for 15 years. She has been a deacon and involved in teaching, fundraising, and youth trips. She went on the last mission trip to Cuba with the Senior High. She has a daughter in college and a son about to graduate high school. It is the first time she has been involved in a nominating committee at WPC and feels honored to be a part of it. Andy McCausland grew up in the Winnetka Presbyterian Church. He, along with his wife and two daughters, feel privileged to help the Church in its mission. Recently, Andy was a member of the nominating committee for the Church Director of Music and Ministries. Having worked in the financial industry for twenty-four years, Andy is the president and founder of the wealth management firm, The McCausland Group. He enjoys helping others through volunteer organizations, including Donate Life (organ donation), The Winnetka Caucus and the National Kidney Foundation. Marj Steiner is a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, teacher, and volunteer. Now retired, she has taught young children for over 28 years – 20 years in the Winnetka Public Schools. She continues teaching and substituting part time. She has worked with teenagers in church youth groups for many years, has been a leader with many work trips, taught Sunday school, and has served on the WPC Session. Recently, Marj has co-led high school students and ‘20-Somethings’ on environmental/educational/service workshops to Peru, Kenya, and Tanzania with the organization Global Explorers. She lives with her husband in Northbrook, IL during the winter months and in Eagle River, WI during the summer. Madeline Weston has been an active member of WPC for the past 15 years and has served on Session (Worship and Music Elder), taught Senior High Sunday School, sings in the choir and was a member of the last PNC which found our current pastor David Lower. Madeline is pleased and honored to be a member of the APNC. This is a unique and committed group aware of the important work ahead and acutely aware of the presence of the Holy Spirit to guide us through this process.
