Winnetka Presbyterian Church stands in solidarity with and serves communities around the world. Each year, our adults and youth travel to an international destination to love and serve others, and to be taught by them. Those who have gone on these trips frequently describe the experience as spiritually uplifting and formative. We have recently visited, and maintain relationships, with the following places: - Havana, Cuba

On August 4, 2008 fourteen youth and adults from Winnetka Presbyterian Church arrived in Havana. The group adapted readily to the heat and humidity of the Cuban capital. During the trip we painted the common areas of 1st Havana Presbyterian Church and spent wonderful moments getting to know and sharing fellowship with the Cuban youth of 1st Havana. The group had the opportunity to experience the amazing warmth of the Cuban people who, despite a daily struggle to survive, live life to the fullest with laughter and music and real hope for the future. |
