Come as you are comfortable. There’s no dress code at WPC, and on Sunday you will find some dressed casually, some more formally, and everywhere in between. The average worshipper at WPC dresses "smart casual" or "business casual."
Park in our lot or on adjacent streets. If the parking lot fills up, you may feel free to park on adjacent streets. You can also feel free to use our circle drive, accessed via Willow Road, if you wish to drop off passengers before parking your car. Here is a map of our block, with parking suggestions if they are needed.
A friendly greeter will be present at the door to welcome you and help you get oriented.
There is informal gathering time from 9am to 9:45am in the church atrium. The coffee is hot and the conversation is always good.
We have a skilled, supportive, and caring nursery and preschool child care program.
Worship begins at 9:45am, and includes music, songs, prayers, a sermon, announcements, and a blessing. An offering is collected, but if you are visiting, please do not feel compelled to give, as you are a valued guest. We also practice “passing the peace,” in which we stand and greet one another during worship as a sign of peace. Worship typically runs about an hour and ten minutes. On the first Sundays of the month, when we celebrate holy communion, the service is typically a few minutes longer.
You are welcome to sit anywhere, and the ushers will give you a bulletin that guides us through the service. The bulletins will prompt you to make use of the red Bibles, if you wish, and the purple hymnals to participate.
Be comfortable, and if you have young kids, don’t worry if they are moving or making noises. These are included in the sounds of genuine worship! You may also feel free to sit in the comfortable seating in the narthex, with a good view of worship, if you need a little more freedom of movement.
Children’s Sunday School begins in worship at 9:45am, then children depart the sanctuary together for Sunday School. At about 10:05am children come forward for a “Moment with the Young,” which is a message specifically for children K-6. From this moment in worship, children will depart the sanctuary to go to Sunday School classes, which are focused on dynamic, interactive, and experiential learning about faith and the Bible. Children’s Sunday School goes from 10:10am to 11:10am, at which point you are invited to retrieve your children from their classrooms.
Coffee hour follows worship in the church atrium. We enjoy being together, and want to know about you, so please consider staying after worship so that we can get to know you, and anyone will be happy to answer any questions you might have about WPC.
Many Sundays, we also offer an adult study after worship, where we can learn and discuss matters of faith, the world, and the Bible.
